Job Title: Airport Services Duty Officer
Reports To: Airport Services Manager
JOB PURPOSE
Over all control of the shift as a direct representative of Airport Services Duty ManagerMonitor the activities of his sections at the airport and coordinating with other sectionsEnsure punctuality and safety of all airline operations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/KNOWLEDGE
Qualifications and Education:
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in an airline or a reputed GHA on a supervisory level
Training:
- Advanced courses in passenger handling
- Courses in Supervisory skills
- Weight and Balance, Ramp handling, Dangerous Goods Regulation
Knowledge:
- Fluency in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage
- Good understanding of airlines Conditions of Carriage, International Civil Aviation
- Safety and Security procedures in accordance with ICAO and IATA and local authorities
- High-level computer literacy
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES AND CURRENT OBJECTIVES
- Ensure that passenger and aircraft handling practices confirm to the safety and security
- Satisfy that all airline Aircraft handling standards are met on a shift basis
- Manage and control manpower on the shift in order to optimize utilization and to maintain staff’s morale and discipline Ensure proper allocation of manpower and resources in the airport operations
- Spot checks on to ensure adequate standards are maintained
- Regularly check all documents pertaining to all operational areas
- Resolving customer problems and complaints while on duty and to ensure that he works on a daily basis with all departments including Customer Relations to provide resolution for complaint handling
- Conducting briefing sessions for shift and GHA supervisors on a shift basis Conduct regular briefings to staff at all levels.
- Compiling a detailed station handling report for Airport Services Manager
- On a shift basis Responsible for completing each report at the end of duty period
COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Needs to have constant contact with airport authorities, police, customs, immigration officers and representatives of other airlines
- Must have effective communications with inter departments within the airline as well as GHA

- Prepared to deal with disrupted passengers and provide all assistance to ensure service recovery
- MAAS high profile passengers to ensure special handling whenever required
- To ensure a safe and on time performance of airline’s operation
OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to perform duties under pressure while keeping the customer service standards
- Working extra hours during flight disruptions
- May be asked to take up duty travel to out stations for covering various assignments
