                                                           Airport Duty Officer

Our client is an international airline that is in the process of opening a station in the New York area. They are seeking an Airport Duty Officer to join their US team at this new operation.

Scope

To ensure efficient and superior service is provided to passengers through the supervision of the Handling Agent. Ensure all areas of the airport operation are within the planned operating budget and effect implementation of the established plan of action / guidelines

The Role

Plan, assign and carry out the work at the airport. Observe Departmental and special rules, regulations and procedures related to airport operations. Analyze and make recommendations for improved operations. Resolve the operational problems for an on-time departure. Respond and resolve passenger complaints and requests and where appropriate report and take up with the ASM. Liaise with all departments to achieve operational efficiencies. Liaise with Airport Authorities and Governmental agencies. Ensure all Health and Safety standards are within the appropriate guidelines. Ensure that Security procedures of the company and the airport, is not compromised. Prepare reports and statistics for management and other departments where necessary.

Qualifications / Experience

5 years airport experience in a similar or equivalent position

Extensive overall knowledge of airport operations

Good communication skills in written and spoken English

Knowledgeable in computers and related software

Baggage tracing and claims handling knowledge would be a plus
